This little boy

is deathly afraid of
D-O-G-S.
To help keep the dogs away from the park,
he left them a message.

It says:
Dog Dog Dog...all crossed out
Never
Signed Josh
I don't think any dogs will be coming to the park anytime soon.

Fathers and Sons Camp out

This past Friday and Saturday was our ward fathers and sons camp out.

The boys were soooooo excited they could hardly contain themselves.

No matter how many times I told them I was going to be lonely and cry while they were gone, they didn't care.

"You have Luke to keep you company," they told me.

Because Darrin was in charge of the camp out, I got to take the boys out there after Darrin was done doing "in charge" kinds of things.
I felt like a spy.
I felt like I was somewhere where moms were forbidden to go.

It was cute seeing all the excited dads and the even more excited sons.
It was at that moment, I felt sad for those dads who never have sons.
I also felt sad for me, who has no daughters.
I need just one, right?
I'll work on that.

Anyway, the boys made dinner and smores on the fire, slept "peacefully" in the tent, woke up to a fabulous breakfast, paddle boating and Frisbee golf.
They got home about 3pm on Saturday...
and they were very dirty.

As for me, I hung out with friends, ate good food, and watched movies.
Saturday I shopped and enjoyed the peace and quiet around the house.

If I keep having boys, I'll have one night a year all to myself, right?
Maybe boys aren't all that bad!

Family Pictures

A couple weeks ago a good friend took our family pictures along with individual pictures of the kids. We just got them back today, and I am so happy with how they turned out!! These are my favorite family ones.

Thanks Jessica!

Great Grandma

My grandma and her new husband drove all the way to Portland last week to visit us.

My kids adored them and were sad to see them leave.

In their short 24 hour stay we talked, ate, played don't eat pete, drove to the temple, and had a picnic lunch at the park.

We had tons of fun! Thanks for coming Grandma!

Luke's 1st Birthday

Happy Birthday to my baby boy!!

Luke had a wonderful birthday! His cousins came over to celebrate. We had fajitas, opened presents, and had cake and ice cream. He was not a fan of the cake. I don't think he even tried it, but once his hands were messy he was done.

Luke: Inside
Daddy, Josh, and Andrew: Outside
Hypothesis: He won't peacefully stay inside much longer.

Do you remember....

Shrinky Dinks??

Color.

Cook.

Play.
Our kids were amused and entertained by these little things for hours.
Totally brought back childhood memories.

Entertaining Aunt Kristin

Aunt Kristin came into town last weekend. We tried our best to show her a good time. On Thursday, we took her to the Zoo. The highlights were the polar bears and sea lions.

On Friday we went to the coast. Luke loved the sand.

Aunt Kristin was with us, despite the lack of pictures of her. lol.

The rest of her trip was probably very boring compared to the first part. She baby-sat lots and helped around the house, which was awesome!! Thanks for coming Aunt Kristin! We love you!!
