love notes

Josh is constantly writing me notes.

And the more words he learns how to spell the more interesting these notes are becoming.

The other day I got this note.

IMG_2086and no, i’m not pregnant.

And then a couple months later, he gave me this one.

I guess I should take a hint, right?

Luckily he redeemed himself.

IMG_2298 The author of this note is a mystery *wink wink*.

You have to find the random letters all over the page to find out who wrote it.

J-o-s-h

Easter threw up at our house today.

But I love it.

The new life, flowers, birds, warmer weather.

I love it all.

I also love this little boy.

Even though he’s been grumpy.

He’s getting his 2 year molars.

Not fun.

I have loved our spring break this week.

We have done pretty much nothing.

Which has actually been really nice.

We also booked our Disneyland trip for later this spring.

The kids are going to love it too.

XOXOXOXO

Andrew’s soccer class

Andrew took an indoor soccer class this past month.

He is a shy boy that gets stressed out about new social situations.

It was my hope that by signing him up for a class like this he could learn some coping skills and build self confidence.

I think we made progress.

And learned lots about soccer in the process.

Whew!  Soccer is hot and sweaty work :)

March 4-8: Grandma

My mom came into town the weekend of March 4.

It's always lots of fun when Grandma comes.

The weather was beautiful, so we decided to go to the zoo.

Andrew found a unique way to ride in the single stroller.

Josh and Andrew both love looking at the map and helping us find our way.

The rest of the weekend was spent playing cards, reading books, playing the Wii, and pretending.
Grandma took the boys on lots of imaginary adventures; they went on a boat ride and camping in the living room complete with tent and a fire.
My boys still talk about that :)

Thanks Grandma for coming! We wished we lived closer.

6 big ones!!

Today Josh turned 6!!

Where does the time go??

Lol, I’ll save that for another post :)

For the last few months, Josh has been wanting a birthday party at

Chuck E. Cheese.

So we let him pick a couple of friends, and on Monday, we partied until the sun went down. IMG_2231 IMG_2237

Luke loved the games and had to be carried out kicking and screaming.

Maybe we’ll go back for his b-day. IMG_2220

Today Josh woke up to his favorite breakfast:

French toast with a St. Patty’s Day twist.

Don’t worry. He informed me they tasted normal.

Every year we try to give him some new green apparel, and

this year was no different.IMG_2256

Here’s the most popular present!!

The boys and I took cupcakes to Josh’s class.

I’m not a fan of the “has to be store bought” rule.

After school we went to McDonalds for lunch, and then to

Toys R Us

to spend a gift card.

Happy Birthday Josh!!

You’re growing up before our eyes!

Please slow down.

I’m trying to savor it.

Lips

All winter Josh has had the terrible habit of licking his lips.

Under his lips he get this outline of dry skin that is red and raw.

It’s a fight to get him to put on Vaseline or chap stick.

IMG_2086_blog

He came home from primary a couple weeks ago with this self portrait.

If you notice, it has the red line under his lips.

Lol.

I guess it’s a pretty accurate self portrait right now.IMG_2131

It was Tuesday.

Approximately 5:33pm.

Dinner prep time.

Luke was here.IMG_2212

Josh was here.IMG_2213

Andrew was here. IMG_2214

All at the same time.

Do think that’s bad?

It had been one of those days.

Don’t worry I was a better mom on Wednesday.
