interviews

me: “Hey Josh, what was your favorite thing about our trip?”

josh: “The popcorn.”

me: “ooookay.  what else?”

josh: “Big thunder mountain railroad.  Space mountain was aaaawesome.  Our hotel had bunk beds with soft yellow walls.  And it had a Bible I could read.  I liked the sugar (churros) and the restaurant at the bottom of the hotel.”

me: “Is there anything you didn’t like?”

josh:  “Nope, I liked allllll of it!!”

me: “Andrew what was your favorite thing about our trip?”

andrew: “The hotel.”

me: “Why did you like it so much?”

andrew:  “Cause it had two TVs.”

me:  “What else did you like?”

andrew:  “The cotton candy.”

Apparently it’s not where you go on vacation, but that you get popcorn and cotton candy and get a hotel with 2 TVs.

Next time we’ll save a lot of money by cutting out all that other stuff :)

Raise two hands if you’re spoiled.

IMG_2553

Ugg.  This kid.

I don’t know if it’s the

age or the fact that he’s currently the baby,

but man,

he knows how to get what he wants.

Such a stinker, but so dang cute!

In other news, we made it back from our vacation.

We had a ton of fun!!

The kids loved Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain…so many mountains!

I was impressed with their bravery.

I think the thing that scared them the most was

meeting this guy.  lol.

I will try not to bore you with all the details.  But I will share a few over the next few days.

If you don’t care, don’t read it :)

Good Morning

I love walking out my front door and seeing this.

The pretty bushes and flowers bring happiness to my soul.

They testify to me that

my Heavenly Father loves me

and is ever present in my life.

Easter part II

Saturday we celebrated the secular part of Easter.

The Easter bunny came and brought an egg hunt and Easter baskets.

In the baskets were new church clothes and this to help them learn their Articles of Faith.

And this is how the egg hunt went down.

Sunday we celebrated the true meaning of Easter.

Conference was wonderful and strengthened our souls.

Tonight we wrapped it up with our Easter FHE.

We made these.

And they turned out great!

When I asked the kids what happened to Jesus inside the tomb

they replied, “He melted!!”

Hum, not quite the response I was hoping for.

Don’t worry we set them straight.

Happy Easter!

Spring Cleaning

I have been in a cleaning mood this past week.

Baseboards, closets, drawers, toys.

I love the result.

I focused a couple days trying to solve 2 problems.

1)  We have lots of toys the kids never play with.

2)  Too many toys=big mess all. the. time.

So I sat down and divided the toys into fourths.

I boxed them up, and we will only have a fourth of them out at a time.

All the others are put up and out of reach.

I will rotate each month.

Here’s how it’s divided:

Month 1

Transformers, Wooden Blocks, Little people farm, Kiddie cars

Toy Story toys, Bugs and Snakes, and Orange Hot Wheels track

Month 2

Shake n Go cars, Doctor stuff, Army guys

Little Legos, Wooden trains, Jungle, and Mr. Potato Head

Month 3

Food, McDonald’s toys, Dinosaurs

Thomas Trains, City Vehicles, Space guys, and Castle Legos

Month 4

Bowling, Cloth farm animals and book, Ducks

Bristle blocks, Duplo Legos, Sea creatures, Little people and

Construction vehicles

Andrew playing with month 1.

The kids whined at first because they didn’t want to play with these toys, but they soon got over it.

IMG_2317 IMG_2319 Luke loves Woody and Jessie…two things he’s probably never played with before.

I think I’m going to love our new system.

Easter thus far

Tonight we decorated our hard boiled Easter eggs.

I bought the sparkly decorating kit and realized after I opened it that it was a painting kit as opposed to the traditional dying kit.

Oh well.  At least they were sparkly.

The kids had a great time anyway, and it was kinda fun to mix it up.

Yesterday we made these bird nests.

And later this week I was to try this.

p.s. I taught Josh what April Fools Day is today.

All day he tried to fool me.

“Mom, look behind you there’s a spider.”

“Mom, watch out a purple dinosaur is about to get you."

Over and over.

I think he finally got Darrin when he said,

“Dad, Mom dented the van at Costco today.”

Darrin fell for it.

Ha ha.

I laughed.
