Happy Mother’s Day.

For mother’s day, Darrin ordered me a storm door for our front door.

And being the handyman he is, he installed it too.

I’ve wanted one for awhile.

Darrin was against it.

But he loves me.

And I think he secretly likes it now.

I. love. it.

I love how I can look out and see the park.

I love how I can open it and let more light in the house on rainy days.

<which, lately, is every day.>

I love it will give us more insulation and help with the heating bill in the winter.

I love that it has a hidden screen rolled up in the top, so when it’s nice outside I can open the window and get a better cross breeze through our house.

But mostly I just love it!

Thanks hon!

Father and Sons

This past weekend was our ward’s fathers and sons campout.

The boys (J & A) were sooooo excited to go and spend time with dad.

L stayed with me and hung with the ladies at ladies night.

Josh and Andrew were set this year on going fishing.

Darrin told them that in order to go fishing, they were going to have to eat what they caught.

They both agreed.IMG_2649  IMG_2651   IMG_2654   IMG_2659

Josh caught 2 fish.

Andrew caught 1.  IMG_2667 The kids had a blast and didn’t come home until 5pm the next day.

Sunday Darrin held true to his word and grilled up the fish for lunch.

I was not about to have fish for mother’s day dinner.

Keep in mind Darrin and I are NOT big fans of fish…especially trout.

And Luke was very intrigued.

IMG_2694

Andrew ate most of his fish.

Josh choked down a couple bites.

Darrin tried with all his might to like it,

but failed and had the willies the rest of the day.

IMG_2697_bubbleIMG_2696    IMG_2701 I tried some one bite for good measure.

And to this day I still smell fish whenever I go in the kitchen.

Ick!

But they had fun and definitely made some memories.

And that’s what is important.

Luke’s B-day

Luke’s b-day was on Sunday.

He had to share his birthday with Mother’s day.

We opened presents after church.

He got Toy Story 3 legos, a sock monkey, and a remote control car.IMG_2683

Since Luke loves Baby Einstein still, the kids thought it would be awesome to make the Baby Einstein caterpillar out of cupcakes.

It turned out okay.

Luke liked it.

and that’s all the matters.

For months Luke’s been singing Happy Birthday to himself.

He loved it when we sang to him on Sunday.

He made us re-light the candles and sing to him about 10 times.

And he threw a fit when we wouldn’t do it anymore.IMG_2725

Overall, I think he had a great birthday.

My baby is not a baby anymore (*tear*)

Monday night we took him to Chuck E. Cheese to top off the celebration.

He loves Chuchie Cheese.

And we love our Luke!
