Get.a.way

Last weekend Darrin and I went on a romantic getaway sans kids to a bed and breakfast near Tillamook.

It was super fun and the quiet…was sooo quiet.

After going to dinner we walked along the coast as the sun was going down.

In the morning after breakfast we headed to Cape Lookout State Park to do some hiking.

We hiked along the edge of the cape.

The views were breathtaking.

We ended our adventures at the cheese factory.

Yum…Ice cream just tastes better there.

Thanks Kristen and Reid.

Lets swap again.

Last day of Kindergarten

We’re free!!!

Summer is officially here!

Josh graduated from kindergarten today.

His class had an ice cream social for the families, so we could all celebrate.

After the social, most kids went home with their families, but not Josh.

He insisted on riding the bus home, because it was finally “sit in the back of the bus day".

And boy was it worth it!IMG_2843  IMG_2845_blog IMG_2848 IMG_2849 Thanks Ms. R for a great year!

And 1st grade, here we come!

Camping at Silver Falls

This past weekend we went on the first of four camping trips we have planned for the summer.

We went to Silver Falls and camped with our awesome friends that are finally back in town from their optometry rotations.

It’s been raining since October, so we’ve been holding our breathe that we’d even be able to go, but as luck would have it, it stopped the day before we left.

We headed out there at 4:30pm and made it out there just in time to have hot dogs for dinner.

We were kind of lazy in putting the food away from dinner, and as we were having smores, an animal came over to our picnic table and stole our bag of Cheetos and ran off.

We were all gathered around the neighboring camp site enjoying the fire, so all we heard was something wrestling with our chip bag in the woods, and then the chomping sound of something eating Cheetos.

We were a little frightened that it was a B-E-A-R, because there are signs all over the place warning you to lock up your food at night etc…

But luckily Darrin and Brad scoped it out and saw a RACOON sitting in the bushes less then a hundred feet away.

Josh went back in the bushes in the morning and retrieved the Cheeto bag.

After we ate breakfast we hiked the most popular waterfall, South Falls.

The weather was beautiful and perfect for a hike!

After our hike, we had a picnic lunch and then headed home.

Everyone took a nap one way home except for Darrin, of course.

What a fun trip though!

Visitors.

Sorry for the lack of posts.

Not much has been happening, except we have had a few visitors come into town.

At the end of May we had Darrin’s parents.IMG_2756 IMG_2763 IMG_2768 And last week we had my sis, Kristin.

We had lots of fun playing and going to the zoo.  She took the kids to the movies, and we played tons of RockBand.

Lego RockBand was definitely my favorite.IMG_2775 IMG_2777

Thanks for coming everyone! We love having visitors!

In other news, school gets out on Wednesday!  Hooray!

We are sooo excited to STAY HOME and not have to be anywhere!

And stay tuned for a post about our first camping trip of the season this past weekend.

We love camping.  Cheap entertainment that our boys love!!
