This past weekend we went on the first of four camping trips we have planned for the summer.
We went to Silver Falls and camped with our awesome friends that are finally back in town from their optometry rotations.
It’s been raining since October, so we’ve been holding our breathe that we’d even be able to go, but as luck would have it, it stopped the day before we left.
We headed out there at 4:30pm and made it out there just in time to have hot dogs for dinner.
We were kind of lazy in putting the food away from dinner, and as we were having smores, an animal came over to our picnic table and stole our bag of Cheetos and ran off.
We were all gathered around the neighboring camp site enjoying the fire, so all we heard was something wrestling with our chip bag in the woods, and then the chomping sound of something eating Cheetos.
We were a little frightened that it was a B-E-A-R, because there are signs all over the place warning you to lock up your food at night etc…
But luckily Darrin and Brad scoped it out and saw a RACOON sitting in the bushes less then a hundred feet away.
Josh went back in the bushes in the morning and retrieved the Cheeto bag.
After we ate breakfast we hiked the most popular waterfall, South Falls.
The weather was beautiful and perfect for a hike!

After our hike, we had a picnic lunch and then headed home.
Everyone took a nap one way home except for Darrin, of course.
What a fun trip though!
