Living Life.

8/28--My foot.  I know.  Gross, right?  I hate feet.  During fun mom week I stubbed my toe and boy did it hurt.  I thought it was broken, but after about a day the pain went away, so I assume that it wasn’t.  It was all colors of black, blue, and red though.

8/28—This is the first time that Ella really put some serious weight on her feet for a lengthy amount of time.  Go baby go!

9/1—A little Baby Einstein while mom makes dinner. She loves her brothers.  And they love her more.

9/1—Darrin and I have really enjoyed playing the online version of a favorite card game: Dominion.   So fun.  Sometimes we play with Chad and Julie as well.  In this particular game, the girls beat the boys.  Always great when that happens.

9/2—As a kid we religiously watched Full House every week.  We taped them off the TV so we could watch them over and over.  We quoted the show all the time and it still brings back fond memories when I watch them.  I know the show is cheesy and has some annoying lines, but I love it anyway.  lol.  The show is now on Nick at Nite (which makes me feel old btw), and I TiVo the episodes for my kids to watch.  Darrin is not a fan, but we watch them when he’s not home :)IMG_3242

9/4--Everything is a purse even brother’s lunch box.  Love my girlie girl!

9/6—And she loves her babies.

9/7—Our dishwasher hasn’t been working for weeks.  It won’t fill on it’s own, so we have to do it manually.  With the sprayer.  3 times during the cycle.  It was really annoying.  But I’m pleased to announce that the repairman FINALLY came today to fix it after a long weekend of the flu.  So glad.

9/8—Just in case you didn’t know…Josh is a published author.  He is the author of a comic book series called Snack Time.  His awesome Aunt Julie published all the comic books into one book this past summer.  He thinks it’s pretty awesome.  Well, he took his book to school to show his new teacher, and she purchased a copy for her classroom library.  Josh is in heaven.  If you would like to purchase a copy for yourself, feel free :)  Here is the link:

9/12—Soccer is in full swing.  Darrin is coaching all 3 boys.  Someone has soccer every day of the week except Wednesdays (boys have cub scouts and Darrin plays in his own league) and Sundays (for obvious reasons).  It’s crazy busy, but I love watching my boys play.  It’s a highlight of the week!  This pic was taken at Luke’s first game last Thursday.

9/12—At the game, I turned around and Ella had pulled herself to standing for the first time ever.  It was awesome, and she was quite proud of herself.

9/14—On Saturday we went to Oaks Park with some friends.  We’d never been there before so they showed us the ropes.  It’s no Lagoon, but the kids had fun!

9/15—Ella climbed the stairs all the way to the top by herself.  Now she wants to go up all the time.  I don’t quite trust her not to fall, so we have to watch her still.

9/17—Standing up in her crib for the first time.  lol.  I know all these firsts are getting out of control.  But chill out, she’s the baby.  Time to lower the crib again.

9/16—My friend Amy and I worked hard to organize a neighborhood BBQ that we put on yesterday.  Several families came and good food and fun was had by all.  So grateful to live in such a great neighborhood.

Fun mom week and First day of school.

The last week of summer before school started I decided to do something fun everyday.  I guess it was to make up for not being super fun all the other weeks of summer :) lol.

On Monday we went bowling.

On Tuesday we went to Pump it Up.

Wednesday was Chuck E. Cheese.  Ella love this rides.  Even just sitting on them was fun for her.

Thursday we went swimming.  All Josh wanted to do was dive in the deep end over and over.  He can actually dive.  I’m super impressed says the girl who has always been to scared to go face first into the water.

As we were leaving the pool there was torrential rain outside.  I was definitely more wet from the rain then the pool!  The kids thought it was great.

Friday we stayed around home.  Some of the kids had a friend over, and we made homemade donuts.

On Sept. 3 Josh and Andrew started school:  4th and 2nd grades respectively.  Andrew got Ms. R…same teacher Josh had for kindergarten.  And Josh got Ms. J whom he LOVES.  He says she’s nice, funny, and mean all at the same time. lol.

Luke started kindergarten on Thursday the 5th.  The day before we had to go to the school for his assessment.  For some reason the experience wasn’t a good one, and he kind of freaked out when we got home about going to kindergarten.  He only wanted to go if I was going to stay with him.  Luckily that all blew over and on the first day he was fine.  He said it was actually fun.  Whew.

Luke is in our school’s dual language program, so he brings home lots of Spanish stuff.  Today he was singing some song they learned in Spanish.  It was pretty cute.  Hopefully it’s a good experience for him!

As for me I’m enjoying having the boys in school.  I’m not really liking how chopped up my day is with the 1/2 day kinder schedule and then the normal release for the other 2.  But oh-well.  It’s only for 9 months.  Ella and I love having quiet mornings with just the two of us!
