1/6—I joined a gym. They just opened a new one by our house so I joined to help with my Get Healthy in 2015 goal. I love it and love that it’s way more reasonably priced than the other one I used to go to. It did bring back memories of working out at the gym with friends and what good time those were. It made me miss those days. Guess I’ll settle going by myself.
1/7—A few friends met at Burgerville for lunch. The little kids had fun sitting at the little tables, eating and coloring together.
The weather was “warm” (read 59*) and Laurie let the boys wash the car and play in the water. They had a blast!
1/9--I love, love, love these bran muffins and made a ton to put in my freezer to eat on rushed mornings. My kids don’t really like them, but all the better!
1/10—We had a baby shower for Laurie. She’s such a great neighbor and friend, so it was nice to be able to pamper her and her new baby!
1/11—We got these Zoobs for Christmas 2013 and no one has really played with them. They finally got creative and made weapons with them. The boys taught Ella well by teaching her to put the weapons half way in her pants. lol.
1/13—Preschool was at our house today! It’s so fun having a girl only group. It’s so different than what I’m used to! During playtime they all got dressed up. They took it very seriously. It was so funny to watch.
1/19—The kids were out of school, so I decided to take them on a hike to fulfill one of Josh’s Arrow of Light requirements. It was not a short hike, so I brought the jogging stroller in case Ella got tired of walking. She maybe rode in it for 2.4 minutes. It was awesome to push an empty stroller around for 3 miles. lol. Guess my baby is getting big. We had so much fun walking in nature and looking at God’s creations. I have a feeling we’ll do a lot more hiking when the weather warms up.
1/21—The school had another restaurant night. We had to go early (like 4:30pm) because of cub scouts. Darrin was still at work, so we had to go without him. These two made silly faces while we waited for our food to come.
1/22—Laurie had her baby! I got to go to the hospital to see him. He is such a cutie! And how fun to hold a super new newborn!
1/24—Ella 2 years and 7 months. I’m pretty sure she’s not allowed to turn 3. She turning into quite an independent girl. Every morning she wakes up and promptly makes her bed. She loves to get dressed by herself and pick out her clothes. She can now open the fridge and help herself to whatever she wants to eat. She loves playing with friends and asks everyday if she’s going to playwith Brynne, Katie, or Ella P. When asked what her name is she says Ella Parker (her friend’s name).
She likes to do whatever the boys are doing even though sometimes they don’t want her around. She is fascinated with babies. We’ve had a few stay at our house for awhile this past month, and she’s always right there watching and helping. She just started liking the movie Tangled and thinks her hair is as long as Rapunzel.
She loves nursery and singing. She still hates the carwash. She likes talking on the phone and shopping. Whenever we are at the store she says things like, “Mom, let’s buy a new dress.” And how can I resist??! She is super fun to shop with and for. It’s kinda dangerous! I love my Ella girl!
1/27—Basketball season is in full swing for Josh. It’s been a great season! We’ve played 3 games-lost 2 and won 1. Josh has had some great shots, and I think made 11 points in one game. This particular team was super tall. We only lost to them by 1 point so we were proud of that!
1/28—My daily walk with Ella! I have to get in all the steps I can throughout the day.
My big girl!
1/29—There was no school because of the end of the quarter. The boys (J and A) and I got to go on a field trip to the court house for cub scouts. We got to sit in on some trials and talk to a couple judges. The kids thought it was boring, but I found it very fascinating!! At the end, the officer handcuffed who ever wanted to be. Andrew thought that was pretty cool! (Hopefully never to be done again lol)
1/30—Friday afternoon I took the kids to the zoo. It was fun and so easy to have older kids. I really like this phase of life! The zoo used to equal pushing around a double stroller full of kids and constant counting to make sure no one was getting lost. It was physically and mentally exhausting! It’s not like that anymore, and I actually might like the zoo. lol.
1/31—Holy cow! Both cars in the garage. It only took 7 months! Pretty good if you ask me. Now we’ll see how long it lasts.
