August 10
We flew to Oklahoma late in the afternoon and got there close to midnight.
We spent the night in Tulsa and listened to the thunder and lightening all night long.
Kim loved it. Darrin was scared.
August 11
We drove to Branson MO were we had our Morris Family Reunion.
On the way we stopped in Joplin to look at the tornado damage.
This used to be a Taco Bell.
So sad.
At 4:00 we made it to Branson just in time for our first show: Dixie Stampede.
You couldn’t take pictures in there, so the horse trailer had to do.
It was a great show with great food! They had no utensils so all the food had to be eaten with your fingers!
A whole chicken, potatoes, corn on the cob, and the soup you had to drink out of the bowl.
My parents rented a huge house outside of Branson that had a pool table, air hockey, lots of beds, and space to run around.
It was great!
After the show we went to check it out and get settled for the night.
August 12
All my siblings and my dad got up early and went zip lining in the Ozark Mountains.
It was awesome! A little scary at first, but fun by the end. I think we did about 15 runs through the mountains.
We had to take a bus with 4 Wheel Drive out there and back. It was the bumpiest ride e.v.e.r.
Check out the pics…Darrin was really there although there’s not many pics of him.
He was the one who manned the camera cause he actually had pockets.
Later that day we went and saw Noah, the Musical. It was pretty good, and the kids enjoyed seeing the live animals!
August 13
We went to Silver Dollar City.
Despite the hot and muggy weather, our kids loved it!
August 14
We got up and went to church then hung out the rest of the day.
Before bed we took the kids to the lake. Darrin taught them how to skip rocks.
Josh actually did it a couple times!
August 15
We got up and checked out out of the house.
Since Missouri is the cave state we decided we couldn’t leave without checking one out.
We went to the Talking Rocks Cavern.
It was pretty cool. I was a little nervous being in a cave with rock over my head though…
My personal fav: cave bacon.
Then we went hiking and found an overlook tower.
Then we mined for rocks.
And lastly they had this speleobox where you could pretend to go spelunking.
Kristin made it though, Darrin did not.
He got stuck and had to back out. I would have died from claustrophobia.
We drove to Bartlesville and spent the rest of the trip there.
August 16-18th
We mostly just hung out at my parents house and spent time with family.
Here’s a few pics.
And that was our trip to Oklahoma!!
Whew!
