On Friday, November 21 we checked the kids out of school early and left for the airport. They loved the bus ride from the parking lot to the departure area. We were all super excited to go to Grandpa and Grandma’s house!!
Walking to our gate we saw that the airport is getting one of Oregon’s finest restaurants…haha just kidding. We’ve never been impressed with it, even though lots of people love it.
Ella loved watching the airplanes while we waited to take off. Our plane went through Denver, but we didn’t have to get off. The kids were pretty good, and we got there without much drama.
We got to Grandpa and Grandma’s house, ate some chicken noodle soup, and watched a little Studio C to help us calm down before bed.
11/22—We went to Osage State Park to hike and check out the water. And, of course, play with sticks and rocks. It was a little boy heaven!
We also practiced our rock skipping.
The sunset was beautiful that night.
Natalie showed the boys something on YouTube that had them cracking up like crazy!
Aunt Kristin’s plane came in, and we gave her a big welcome when she got to Grandma and Grandpa’s.
11/23—Relaxing after church!
Singing songs
and reading books with Grandpa.
After the kids went to bed we played games! We even got my dad to play one. Some of the favorites of the trip were Wits and Wagers, the Bean Game, and Incan Gold. I think we found the cause of Darrin’s balding-losing games lol.
11/24—Happy Birthday to me! We went bowling at Phillips for fun.
These cute girls got along pretty well the whole trip!
They loved to clank their princess sippy cups together. I’m not sure where they learned it, but it was pretty funny!
Cake time! Darrin made me a pineapple upside down cake. I share a birthday with my nephew, Ben, so we had two cakes!
The birthday people!
Funny faces for mom.
A birthday tunnel!
A small game of Pass the Shoe. It took me back to a birthday party I had as a kid where we played the same game. I was super embarrassed, and it’s scarred me ever since lol.
11/25—We went to the zoo! We had a great time. The animals were very active, and we got to see several of them be fed: penguins, crocodiles, and fish. Our favorite animal was the tiger. He was pacing back and forth and even “roaring” every few minutes. It was kinda freaky, but cool at the same time. Ella was super fascinated with it.
We came home to a yummy dinner and a continuation of our Dr. Mario tournament.
Such a fun trip so far!! Stay tuned for part 2.
xoxoxoxo
