Hikes and outdoor school.

4/20—Even though Luke isn’t quite 8, he was invited to start attending cub scouts.  They went on a hike where they learned good hiking practices and about being prepared.  Our neighbor, Christopher, came too.

Goofy boys!

4/27—Josh left for Outdoor School.  What were we going to do for 2 nights and 3 days without our Joshy??  He was sure excited though!

Pinewood Derby!  Luke still isn’t 8 yet, but still got to participate.

These two are the best of friends, and it’s so sweet to watch.

And sometimes it was nerve racking!

Overall, Andrew got 4th place and Luke got 8th.

Luke wanted to continue the office supply theme.  In past years we’ve had a pink easer and a pencil

4/28—For a preschool field trip we went on a hike to look for butterflies and frogs.

This girl was beyond excited--binoculars and all!

We got lucky and found butterflies and HUGE frogs.  Check that frog out.  We saw several just like it.  They were humongous.  Definitely a successful field trip!

4/29—Josh came back from Outdoor School!

They were dirty and tired, but happy from a great time!  The food must have been fantastic because that’s all I heard about for days!

Courts of Honor and Pancakes

4/1--Our neighbors, Mark and Lucy Loomis, are moving back to San Diego in a couple weeks.  We have enjoyed having them live in our neighborhood for the past year and a half.  They are genuinely good, kind-hearted people.  The “breakfast club” ladies had to have one more big Girl’s Night Out before they left.  We went to a German restaurant (which I didn’t think was that good) and then to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert.  YUM.

4/2—We had Josh aerate the lawn.  You can’t really see it in the picture, but he’s holding and stepping on an aerator that make holes in the lawn.  It’s long tedious work, but he didn’t complain and worked hard.

Andrew made us pancakes this morning for breakfast.  He did great and they turned out perfect!

4/3—We attended Trevor’s Eagle Court of Honor.  We are proud of him and is hard work!

Love the special bond these cousins have with each other.

4/4—I’m almost done with my Infant Development class.  Sheesh.  Just have to write a 10 page paper.  No big deal.  UGH.  This paper has been the biggest pain in my side ever.  When’s the last time you wrote a paper using APA style and citing sources??

4/7—Andrew was awarded the character trait award for Courage.  His teacher said he’s taken lots of courageous steps in learning this year.  Proud of this boy!

4/9—We went Disc Golfing with the Hague’s.  The weather was perfect and it was fun to get out spend time as a family with some great friends.

4/13—Josh was finally awarded his Scout and Tenderfoot in Boy Scouts.

4/14—We (Josh, Ella and I) went to the middle school for a welcome night for all incoming 7th graders.  We went on a scavenger hunt, got to know our way around, and heard about the different electives.  I didn’t take any pictures…you know, I didn’t want to embarrass my child.  But wanted to remember that we did that.

4/15—Instead of having the usual breakfast club, the neighbors decided to help Lucy pack.  I opened up our house so the kids could play and the moms could actually get some stuff done.

4/16—Now this is a girl who loves to watch her brothers play soccer!

Good bye party at the park for the Loomis’s.  We had a yummy potluck dinner followed by a friendly soccer game!

4/18—A water fight in April??  Sure why not!

Visit from G&G Morris

3/26—Grandma and Grandpa Morris drove to our house from OK.  It was a super long drive but hopefully it wasn’t too torturous!

We watched the BYU basketball game to give them a rest when they first got here, but after that we got right to the Easter egg hunt.

Even the big boys participated.  Don’t ask me why all this stuff is haphazardly in the middle of the yard.

3/27—Easter Sunday.  This was the best picture I could get.  Love these little and not so little people.

This was Josh’s first Sunday to pass the sacrament.  It was fun to have Grandma and Grandpa Morris here for that.  He was nervous, but did great!

We played Love Letters after the kids went to bed.  It’s definitely one of our favorites!  Fun and simple!

3/30—Grandma and Grandpa got special permission to watch Ella’s dance class since they were in town.  Normally you can only watch on a certain day of the month.  The cuteness was tangible.

4/1—After a great week long visit it was time for Grandma and Grandpa to head home.  We are grateful they took time to come see us.  It’s fun having Grandpa retired so he can stay longer now!

Thanks for coming!
