Our kids have always loved this toy. Luke is no different.











Although, if he's pushing by himself and gets stuck we have to listen to a high pitched squeal until someone helps him turn around.

Critters

This spring we've seen several critters in or around our house.

1. We've had ants. Eeeww. I hate ants. Luckily the ant bait worked, and they are gone for the time being...hopefully for good. The kids enjoyed them, though. Andrew was convinced they had families and reminded me every time I swept them up.

2. This is a crane fly. They lay their eggs in your lawn, and then the larva eats your lawn. Darrin despises them.
We've had serious crane fly problems the past two years.

He's determined to single handily put an end to all crane flies....

with a fly swatter.

3. A couple weeks ago we found a frog in our backyard.
The boys, including Darrin, were too scared to touch it. I, a girl, touched it. I didn't pick it up, but I touched it. I didn't know I lived with a bunch of wimps.

4. These are the four babies that were born on our little street of eight houses within six months. Luke is the oldest.

Man, somethin' must have been in the water!

5. Birds. We have a bird's nest on our porch. The picture is of the male bird. He sits right there and watches the mama bird in the nest. It's been fun to watch them and how they take care of each other.

Easter

We had a beautiful Easter.

Saturday we ate breakfast at IHOP,

dyed Easter eggs,

and had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard.

Sunday our church meetings were excellent and very uplifting.

We came home and had a wonderful Easter dinner with a group of friends.

General Conference, the warm spring sun, and these promising tulips have soothed my soul this weekend.

Have you ever heard of a blighted ovum?

Well, let babycenter.com educate you if you haven't heard of it:

"A blighted ovum is a common type of miscarriage. It happens when a fertilized egg implants in the uterus but the resulting embryo either stops developing very early or doesn't form at all. Nowadays, the term "blighted ovum" is considered out of date. Instead, most medical professionals use the term "early pregnancy failure" to describe this situation.With an early pregnancy failure, you'll get a positive result on a pregnancy test, because the placenta begins to develop anyway and starts to secrete human chorionic gonadtrophin (hCG), the hormone that these tests look for. Early on, you may also have some of the symptoms common in a normal pregnancy, such as fatigue, nausea, and sore breasts. Later, when the hormone levels begin to go down, these symptoms will subside and you're likely to have spotting or bleeding. In the case of early pregnancy failure, the ultrasound will show an empty gestational sac."

Now that you know what one is, let me inform you...I found out yesterday, this is what my body is going through. I had an ultrasound, and it showed an empty sac.

This has actually been a harder thing to go through than I thought it would be. But we're hanging in there.

Anyway, spread the word...Hancock's are not expecting their fourth quite yet...it will happen, but I guess right now is not the right time.

Unfortunately my body is getting the last laugh this April fool's day. I can just hear it now...Haha, you thought you were pregnant...I tricked you!

Bad timing I know.
