Thanksgiving Vacation Part I

Thursday, November 19 we flew to Utah for our Kaylie’s (our niece) wedding.

On Friday the 20th we attended the pre-wedding dinner.

On the way there, Josh and Andrew took a nap.

And Luke stayed wide awake.

The dinner was a lovely meal with a beautiful program. 

We thoroughly enjoyed it.

And the kids “enjoyed” it in their own way.

Josh danced with his cousins.

 

Andrew hid out under the table.

And Luke ate everyone’s wedding favor and

gave his typical :cheese: face for the picture.

One might think we let our kids run wild during the dinner and, indeed, we might have,

but they are small kids with a small attention span…

so please forgive us.

Saturday the 21st was the wedding in the Draper Temple.

It was beautiful.

Followed by a super fun reception.

In between all of that, we took the kids to visit BYU and hung out with my awesome sisters.

Sunday we relaxed.

Since Luke is currently the youngest cousin on the Hancock side, he gets LOTS of attention from his older cousins. 

They also like him lots because his name his Luke…just like Luke Skywalker.

He often has a swarm around him…just like this.

And, of course, he eats. it. up.

Who wouldn’t??

I heart nursery.

11/15/09

Today was Luke’s first day of nursery.

For about a month I’ve been lifting him up and letting him look through the nursery window.

He always liked what he saw in there.

Fun.

Toys.

Finally his day came.

He went.  a little unsure of himself.  But he went.

And Darrin and I sat back and actually listened.

Soccer end.

Soccer ended the last week in October.

Josh really improved over the season.

Halloween Festivities

Halloween was a busy day.

We carved pumpkins and roasted pumpkin seeds.Surprisingly, the boys did lots of the work cleaning out their pumpkins.

This year I bought one of those kits with the tools and patterns for pumpkin carving.

Man, it was lots of work, and it took Darrin and I forever to do 2 pumpkins.

Anyway, who knows if we’ll do that again, but nonetheless, here’s Andrew’s monster.

 

After Darrin’s soccer game, we got all dressed up.

Josh was superman.

Andrew was Optimus Prime (a Transformer).

And Luke was Elmo.

Luke was in a awe the entire night. 

He was so cute wandering the streets with his little bucket.

And after a long day of Halloween, Darrin sat down to eat all the candy=).

Today was an absolutely beautiful day.

To celebrate, we went to the park to play in the leaves.

Piles.

and.

Piles.

everywhere.

When we got back from talking a walk around the park, the lawn mower guy had mowed up the leaves.

What a party pooper. 

Luckily we played in them before we walked.

 

And yes, we did celebrate Halloween…look for pics tomorrow.

Primary Program

What cute brothers and friends these boys are!!

Today in church was the primary program.

This little boy’s part was:

“Saying I’m sorry.”

(All the sunbeams were listing a way they could be a good family member.)

  And Josh said:

“I am a child of God.”

He also did quite a bit of dancing during the songs of the program.

Cracked us up for sure.

Tonight I am thankful for the simple truths of the gospel.

Random:ness

Once again, nothing much has happened lately. 

My kids have discovered the camera and now take lots of pics of each other and me. 

They seem to get silly when they do this. 

So enjoy some silly pictures on this rainy Friday.

Andrew’s 4th Birthday

Tuesday was Andrew’s birthday.

Monday night we went with friends to a fun pizza place in town. We all had a great time playing and eating pizza! Thanks everyone who came, and thanks for the gifts. You guys are too nice!

We woke up on Tuesday to hidden presents (Transformers and more Transformers) , Lucky Charms, doughnuts and chocolate milk. We did all that and got Josh to school by 8am!

Then it was off to preschool.

We took brownies to share with the class.

Andrew requested Jell-O for his birthday. I hardly ever make Jell-O, so I thought it was funny. So we had Jell-O with our dinner.

I guess I need to make Jell-O more often.

Andrew was very passionate about what kind of cake he wanted: a Wii cake.

We did the best we could.

At Josh’s soccer practice, we saw a rainbow.

Andrew was excited for this birthday rainbow.

Hopefully it means good things for the year to come.

Happy Birthday Andrew! You are such a sweet, sweet boy!
