Happy Anniversary!

Well, yesterday was our 5 year anniversary. Darrin took the event seriously and decided we should do something out of the ordinary. So we decided the try a fondue restaurant called The Melting Pot. The restaurant is in downtown Portland and in the basement of one of the tall buildings. We walked down to the restaurant and were lead to a very private table...which is apparently something they are known for. Some of the booths had curtains on them so you could have complete privacy. They even gave us an anniversary card. They serve four courses of dinner. The first one is a cheese fondue with bread, apples, and veggies. They make the fondue right in front of you with this fondue pot and burner on your table. Then they bring you a salad, and it was super, super good. The 3rd course was the main one. They brought us this broth type liquid in a fondue pot and then a platter of raw meats. You put the meat on your fondue stick and boil it in the broth for a couple minutes. It was really cool how it works, but it was probably my least favorite course. The last course was Chocolate fondue with strawberries, bananas, pineapple, marshmallows, brownies, etc. It was soooo good! Anyway the whole experience took about 3 hours. It was just so fun and well worth the money! For the occasion Darrin also brought me 2 dozen roses, and then after the kids were in bed we watched our favorite show: Close to Home. It was definitely an anniversary to remember! Thanks Darrin. I love you!
