Ten things to remember about Christmas 2009

1.  Josh made his Christmas list months ago, and on it was a magic set and a snowball gun.  What is a snowball gun??  I don’t even know.

2.  The kids watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas over and over and over.

3.  Luke was a very good present opener.  It was a good thing he didn’t understand what presents were until Christmas morning.  He would have bothered them all month long.

4.  We have a Santa Claus advent calendar that hangs on the wall, and every night in December until Christmas Santa brings candy and puts it in the corresponding pocket.  Sometimes Santa does forget.

5.  On Tuesday we took our letters to Santa and mailed them in a special mailbox headed straight for the North Pole.  The mailbox was in Macy’s department store.

6.  We took the boys to buy presents for each other.  It was nice to see them want to give and not just receive.

7.  Darrin took the boys shopping to get presents for me.  Andrew tried SO hard not to tell me what he got me, but he just couldn’t help it.

8.  We finally made the digital upgrade.  Seeing Darrin admire his new TV: priceless.

9.  Josh did not get a snowball gun.  But he did get a magic set.  One of the ticks is :magically: poking a pen through a dollar.  Josh didn’t quite understand and really did poke a hole in it.  It was hilarious!

10.  The older our kids get, the more fun Christmas is.  I’m sure it will just keep getting better.

...until your kids get really old, and then you have to work harder for the fun!
