Pregnancy Journal (35 weeks)

Well, I’m half way through my 35th week!  My due date is one month from today.  CRAZY!

I’m feeling pretty good and trying really hard not to complain about anything!  I’m just so happy and grateful to be pregnant and that everything still is going well.

I went to the doctor on Monday.  She checked me, and I was a fingertip dilated.  Anyone want to go for a walk?  Looks like I need to go on a few (ahem, a lot) more.  I really didn’t expect to be much more dilated than that at 35 weeks, but I’d really like to get this show on the road at least by 39 weeks.  I have an agenda, and I’m hoping this baby does too!

I was measuring 34 and have gained 28 (yikes) pounds.  I had another blood draw and my platelet count went up to the normal range!  Yay!

I’m, of course, attempting VBAC #3 which means I have to go into labor on my own…no inductions here.  I have until June 27th at 7:30am to go into labor on my own or the clock runs out, and I’m stuck with a c-section.  I’m hoping and praying that’s not the case.

Something different about this pregnancy then the others is the amount of swelling in my hands and feet.  My feet look like monster feet to me!  So huge!  My hands are also swollen which is causing pregnancy induced carpal tunnel.  My hands are asleep all. night. long.  They get more sleep than I do these days!  I ordered some wrist braces today, so I’m hoping that will help.  But because of the poor circulation in my hands, they are really swollen when I wake up.  On Saturday I sadly took off my wedding rings…which is really sad cause for our anniversary we just bought a new band that I love—more on that later!  But I figure it’s better to take them off rather then have to have them cut off or loose a finger.  lol.  So the tan line on my ring finger is my “pretend” ring for now.

That’s about all I can think of right now…I’ll definitely post a picture soon.

28 pounds is healthy! :-) I'm so glad everything else seems to be going smoothly for you (having to take off your rings aside). 1 month left - exciting!!!

28 lbs is way better than i've ever done! my smallest is 35. i've also had the pregnancy induced carpel tunnel before, its awful! so sorry! my hands were asleep all day and all night. the braces helped some but just be aware that it might not go away right after baby arrives either. hang in there!

My whole right arm was numb at the end of my pregnancy with Harrison! I had never experienced anything like it before. So weird and annoying! It took a while after he was born to go away but I had forgotten all about it until I read your post. I'm so glad everything is going well! I hope the last month goes by quickly and she comes on her own in a timely fashion. Can't wait to see your cute little Hancock girl!

well, you look wonderful, really! I remember just crying when I was pregnant, didn't know why, just needed to get it out. I too know exactly how you feel with the VBAC. Some people just looked at my wondering why I would worry about something so little as being induced. But I new it was over if they did and I did not want another c-section- ever. I will keep you in my prayers. get a priesthood blessing and things will turn out just the way they should. We love you!
