Detox in Progress

Well, we are in first couple hours of operation "get rid of the Binky" at our house tonight. It's gone pretty smoothly...he's asleep and not screaming...so that's promising! Although ever since we cut the "B" he's been telling us that the baby broke his "B." I'm trying to reiterate that the baby did NOT brake his "B." I'm afraid he will forever hold a grudge against the baby if he continues to think that is what happened. Anyway, here are some pictures of our used to be Binky boy...and a sad picture of what the "B" looks like now. We'll update you in morning on how the night went=).

Update 11:35pm: Just as I posted the first post, Andrew woke up crying and was NOT happy. I gave him a drink and sang him song. Hopefully he'll be able to go back to sleep!

Update 4/12 8:45pm: Andrew only woke up that one time last night. Thank goodness! He woke up a little bit sad this morning but for the most part hasn't cared too much about his "B." I put him to bed, so we'll see if there's any drama tonight. I'd say for now--so far, so good!

Update 4/13 3:25pm: Well, Andrew had a hard time falling asleep last night, but once he was asleep he slept through the night. Today we tried for an hour and a half to get him to take a nap but to no avail. I'm afraid without the "B" naps will be no more...we'll have to see.

Ohhhhhhh! Our hearts go out to all parties involved. Tough time, but kids are amazingly adaptable. It will be over soon. Grandma and Grandpa are pullin' for ya.

Just keep reminding yourself that in the end it is worth it. I hope it is as quick and painless for you as it can possibly be.

good luck. I don't know what it is like to have this problem. None of my kids have taken a binky, much to my dismay at the moment.

We have the same trauma with our gal Kate. We aren't even crossing that bridge yet. I love that ya'll are doing it! Good luck!
