Today has been a crazy day. We’ve been trying to decide if we are going to go to Utah tomorrow or not for my sister’s wedding. I’ve never been in this kind of pain after having a baby before…so that’s not working in our favor. I took Ella to the pediatrician and she weighed 6 pounds 13 oz. I am in a panic with all the weight loss. They also took her bilirubin again. Luckily it’s going in the right direction.

I woke up feeling a little better this morning. I headed to the hospital for the lactation appointment at 9:30am. We put Ella on the scale, and she weighed 7 pounds 14 oz. WHAT??? How could she have gained a pound in 24 hours? The lactation consultant assured me that her weight yesterday had to have been wrong. This calmed my panic somewhat. From there I took her to the pediatrician again and weighed her there, and she was again 7 pounds 14 oz. Whew! We concluded that the weight from yesterday was an error. All that worry for nothing! The dr. gave us the green light to head to Utah if we want. She tested the bilirubin one more time and said she would call us on the road with the results. I got home and we loaded up the van and left! We drove to Boise and spent the night. Ella did great and thanks to my special donut pillow, I was able to sit for several hours in a row :)

I seriously considered buying one of those doughnut pillows myself. Of course, I didn't have a super long car ride to deal with... I hope you are feeling better every day!
