Halloween

Luke’s Halloween homework.  IMG_3110-1

Wednesday night we carved pumpkins.  Aunt Kristin was visiting, so she helped us.  She carved an awesome wolf from a pattern for Andrew.  He had to pay her 50% of his Reese’s candy bars as payment.  She held him to it.

Our kids were almost self sufficient when it came to cleaning out and carving their pumpkins.  Josh and Luke cleaned theirs out without any help.

Luke was working on his pumpkin over in the corner for about 30 minutes.  I was expecting it to just be a big hole or lines or something abstract.  I was pleasantly surprised when he turned it around about showed us the finished product.  He did a wonderful job!  Way to go Luke!!

With my mom and Kristin in town, Kristin insisted that we dress up like characters from the Wizard of Oz.  We looked hot.P1010749 P1010757

Ella was content just to ride around in the stroller.

After I took the boys trick or treating, I came back with Ella and let Darrin go.  Ella sat right next to me in the doorway for a long time passing out candy.  She may or may not have been eating some herself.  She was so cute in her costume, babbling away and being cute.  It was a moment I treasured.

After everyone came back, the trading and sorting ensued.  I think it’s funny no one teaches kids to do that, it’s just instinctive.

Happy Halloween!
