Halloween

I loved having Halloween on a Saturday this year and think we should have it on a Saturday every year.  Who’s with me?!

We started our day with three soccer games.  Luke and Andrew lucked out with no rain, but Josh’s game got dumped on.  We parked on this bridge over looking the field and Ella and I stayed nice and warm in the van.  It was the perfect place to watch.  Everyone outside got drenched.  There was so much water on the field that it was like playing soccer in a shallow pool.  The kids would kick the ball and it would hardly move because of the water.

After we got home and warmed up, we carved our pumpkins.   DSC_2936

After a yummy Halloween themed dinner of mummy dogs, mouth apples, and ghost bananas, we got dressed in our Halloween costumes.

Ella was Cinderella, Josh and Andrew were scary hooded people, and Luke was a ninja.

The boys pumpkins: (from left to right) Andrew’s, Luke’s, and Josh’s.  I think Andrew and Luke had help from Darrin.

We headed out to go trick or treating.  It was raining pretty hard at first.  Ella discovered how tricky it is to carry a candy bag and an umbrella.  She only lasted 7 houses because of how wet it was.  Darrin took her home to pass out candy, and I kept going with the boys.  It finally stopped raining, and we were able to hit most of the neighborhood before we got too tired!

Overall it was a great Halloween even though it did rain!
