Hancock Family Reunion—July 6-13th Part 1

It’s that time again!  Time for the Hancock Family Reunion.  Always a fun week filled with so many memories!  Bear with me as I take several posts to tell about it :)

July 6th--We rolled into Park City about 4pm and went straight to our resort.  We got settled in our room that we shared with Jared.  We ate a yummy dinner and dessert.  Grandpa was handing out ice cream cones to the little kids and the adults got a more deluxe ice cream bar.  Ella threw a fit and wanted the fancier dessert.  Uncle Chad gave into her fit and gave her one anyway.  Spoiled girl.

After dinner we had a family meeting.  Chad and Julie did an amazing job organizing and planning the reunion.  Luke was scared with excitement after hearing all the weeks plans.

July 7th—We woke up to Mickey Mouse pancakes by Grandpa.  Definitely a must when starting off the reunion! IMG_6444IMG_6443

The kids were in the pool by mid-morning.  Lots of the cousins and Uncle Jared had fun playing water basketball.

Then it was off the church building in Park City to eat lunch,

(These two had fun playing in the water fountain whenever they could.)

and playing Hancock Family Feud.

Darrin did an awesome job with our family movie especially in the middle of moving, and he also was the brain behind the Family Feud game.  He worked on it the whole drive to UT.  I’ve never driven so much on vacation in our married life. lol.  It was a lot of work to survey the family, tally the answers, and then input it into the template.  He did an amazing job though and he looked pretty good doing it too :)

I got smart and brought Ella’s sleeping gear to the church.  She slept for a good 2 hours in a dark classroom!  It was nice to enjoy the movies and game without her hanging on my leg.

To top the afternoon off, lots of people played knock out.  I’m pretty sure Trevor took Darrin out. lol.

Later in the evening we took a big family picture.  I don’t have a copy of it yet, but I know it turned out great.  So grateful for the picture now that Katie isn’t with us.  Here’s some outtakes of us killing time…

We were in charge of the family TP that night.  We had to tell a personal story about toilet paper and another one where we learned a moral lesson.  Darrin covered both stories with ease.  If you haven’t heard the toilet paper story, you should ask him…it’s hilarious :)
