Sabbatical here we come!!

For every 7 years you work at Intel you get to take an 8 week paid sabbatical.  I had no idea what a sabbatical was until we moved to Oregon.  But am sure glad I learned!!  This summer we’re taking ours!  So from July 1 till after Labor Day Darrin doesn’t have to go to work.  It’s pretty awesome:)

On June 30 Darrin worked a half day, came home, packed up the van and headed to Boise where we spent the first night on our vacation.  I couldn’t believe how easy it was to drive long distances with older kids.  It was a piece of cake compared to past years.

After we spent the night in Boise we drove 5 hours to Idaho Falls to visit my Grandma.  We visited for a couple of hours and then met up with our friends, the Nelsons, at the Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner.  Then we took the kids to the park to play and visit some more. We had a great time hanging out with them!

Saturday morning we woke up to a wonderful breakfast that Doyle made and let the kids play for awhile.  They loved my Grandma’s Wii, toy airplanes, and the fountains in the backyard.  In the afternoon we went to the mall to buy me a new swimsuit (i forgot mine) and then to see falls and the temple.  Aunt Kristin was in town too, so she came with us.  While at the falls, we found a Hawaiian Ice shop and got us all one to prevent us all from melting in the heat!

After a great BBQ for dinner, we said our good byes and left for Tooele around 6:30 Saturday night.  Thanks, Grandma and Doyle, for a great time!!
