Darrin was given an extra week of vacation in May this year because of the exceptional job his group did on the last project. We rushed around and made last minute plans to go to Disneyland and meet up with our awesome friends, the Bywaters.
We left on Luke’s b-day (May 9) and spent most of the day in the airport because our connecting flight was cancelled. Our plan was to get there early and go to Knotts Berry Farm, but we didn’t get there in time to do that. Luckily every time we tried to buy our tickets online in the days before (on more than one occasion) the transaction would not go through, so no money was lost! Darrin was super bummed though.
On May 10 we woke up, met our friends and headed to Disneyland.
Tuesday we went to California Adventure.
Andrew wasn’t feeling very well this day. We finally tracked some Tylenol down, and he was much better after that.
That night we stayed for the “World of Color” water show. Our kids LOVED it! Josh said it definitely was his favorite part. We were sitting in the “wet zone” but luckily we didn’t get that wet. If the wind had been blowing the other way we would have been in trouble
Thursday we went to the Disneyland one more time and said good bye to Brad and Ang.
We hung out with Luke’s “daddy.”
And Luke and Kenzie planned their wedding in 20 years.
Thursday night we drove to San Diego and then went to LEGOLAND on Friday.
Luke got sick Friday and had a fever all day at the park. He was a pretty good trooper for being sick!
We got to eat at In n Out for the first time while we were there.
Hamburgers=yummy French Fries=ok
Saturday we went to the beach and then drove to the airport.
Notice we’re still wearing sweat shirts…
the beach was still cold, but Darrin claimed the water was much warmer than Oregon…
Overall a great trip with great fun and friends!
