Blinds, a couch, and carpet

Well, it’s September 1.  I set a goal to blog everyday for the whole month.  We’ll see how this goes :)

Today was Labor Day.  We slept in because Ella was up half the night before.  On Sunday she burned her finger pretty bad, and now there’s a good sized blister on it.  About 2:20am she woke up and wouldn’t go back to sleep.  I was finally so tired I put her in our bed and eventually she went back to sleep.  Needless to say, we were tired.

Darrin spent most of the morning installing our new blinds.  Only our room, Ella’s room, and the kitchen were delivered.  The rest will be here on Wed.  I’m loving them though!  We got the black out ones for the bedrooms and holy cow, it’s pitch black in there.  IMG_7471

After lunch we went out to the Andersen’s to pick up the couch we bought from them.  It’ll be perfect in the upstairs playroom.  (Although we’re keeping it downstairs until we get the new carpet.)

Luke and Ella were lucky enough to get a tractor ride while we were there.

After getting the couch home, we went to Lowe’s to pick out our carpet and get that ordered.  We went with the color riverbed.  It should take two weeks to come in and then it will be installed shortly after that!  Hopefully we like it :)

We decided to have tin foil dinners for dinner.  The kids LOVED them, and they hardly took any time on the grill.  Then we built a fire and had s’mores for dessert.  It was a great way to end the summer!

School starts tomorrow!  Yay!
