Eye doctor and the circus

September 4th—This morning was the first day of kindergarten so I went to the school early to help with the boohoo/yahoo event that the PTA has for the parents of kindergarteners.  A parent made a ton of yummy scones as a treat.  They were the best scones I’ve ever had!

Jenae and I got together to count out papers for the Wolf Walk coming up in a couple weeks.  Ella had fun playing with her kids.

After school, all the boys plus myself had eye doctor appointments.  I thought for sure someone would need glasses by now, but nope.  All the boys see great.  He even did a little test on Ella because she was feeling left out.  It was cute.

We picked up pizza on the way home.  Yes I know, pizza two days in a row.  I’m a new fan of Little Caesars Deep Dish pizza.  It’s way better than the normal kind and reminds me of my childhood.

Darrin got tickets from work to go to the circus.  We left by 5pm to get through rush hour traffic.  Ella took a nap on the way.

We got there only to be greeted by tons of protesters that wanted to save the elephants from the circus.  It was kind of comical, but something I didn’t expect.  But, of course in Portland, where people love animals more than humans, they would want to save the elephants.  I’m pretty sure the elephants are well taken care of.

We had a great time watching the show.  The acrobats and the motor bikes in the cage were my favorite things.

I feel like we’ve finally arrived as a family.  This is the first event we’ve attended all together like this.  No babies and only one little kid to keep track of.  The boys are old enough to follow us around and not wander off.  It was fabulous but a little sad at the same time.

So grateful for our little family!  We are so blessed.

Looks so fun! I used to go to that circus every year. It's so great to be able to go out as a fam.

So lucky that none of you need glasses!
